Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

In January 2022, we lost one of our longest standing Board of Directors members, Dr. John Short.

Words are inadequate in a time of loss such as this. In Dr. Short's case, words aren't needed - the legacy he leaves behind speaks volumes when our broken hearts can't utter any words at all.

Dr. Short's love for our community was unmatched. To know him was not only to love him, but also to be impacted by him. He had the extraordinary ability to make each and every conversation seem like the most important one of his day. Even though he was a much busier man than most of us even realized, he still made it a priority to spend whatever amount of time was necessary with the person in front of him. In today's world, someone like that is hard to find and absolutely impossible to replace.

A prayer that we've heard John pray often was a prayer of thanksgiving: "Father, we thank You for what You're doing, and for letting us be a part of it."

Now, we thank Him for what He did through Dr. Short's life, and we thank Him for allowing us to be a part of it.
